So Your Husband’s a MtF Crossdresser or Transsexual…

There was talk from time to time about a “wives’ bill of rights,” which addressed things such as your right to have your husband be a man if that’s what you got on your wedding day. And your right not to have your husband steal your panties and wear them. Which is good, I guess. But I’m here to say that from my experience, at least, this was not all good times at the mall and getting our nails done side by side. In fact, it sucked. And that bill of rights needs an edit. So here I go.

‘Sex Change’ Word Games

Look, I get it. Language is every bit as fluid as some people claim gender and sex are. It’s a living thing that changes over time. Sometimes the change is slow and takes place over centuries. Other times, it moves at a breathless pace, such as when new technology is introduced. But change in language is forced, like it obviously is happening here, it’s a shining beacon declaring that shenanigans are happening here.

Lies My Ex-Husband Told Me: If I Got a Vagina, It’d be Just Like Yours

I don’t point these things out to be hateful or unkind. I just got tired of the lie repeated so often – that a transsexual’s organs are the same of mine. They’re just not. They are what they are, and they aren’t what they aren’t. And, frankly, to say that what I’ve had since birth is just the same as what someone else got on a surgical table yesterday are the same is insulting.

Gender Immigrants

That’s how it is for immigrants. You leave one shore with no guarantee that the one on which you arrive will welcome you. And even if they do, there may be a lot of hurdles and roadblocks in the way. And even if you navigate all of them, there still is no guarantee of being truly welcomed. Sometimes they don’t want you, and sometimes you’re turned back. It’s the risk an immigrant takes.
